Anders Indset live at the PCC – The Viking Code: What we can learn from the Norwegians

How do we find and nurture our talents? How does Austria become a sports nation?

Europe/Vienna
Add to calendar:

A small country, remarkably many world-class athletes. This is not coincidence.

Norway has been producing top athletes for years who set the tone internationally – with a population smaller than that of Austria. Economic philosopher Anders Indset does not attribute this to random talent, but to a shared mindset, which he describes in his book Viking Code (2024).

On 12 January 2027, the Performance & Competence Center will bring this perspective to Oberwaltersdorf – and directly confront it with the Austrian question: How do we find, nurture, and retain our talents? And what needs to happen for Austria to become a sports nation?

An afternoon for everyone who develops performance: coaches, associations and clubs, sports management, business leaders, and partners of the PCC.

That’s why you should be there

The Viking Code – Indset shows what cultural values underpin the Norwegian success story, and why performance and the joy of improvement belong together rather than exclude each other.

Finding and nurturing talents – What does this attitude mean for the daily work with young athletes? It is about breadth instead of early selection, about environment, patience, and personal responsibility.

The view on Austria – In the moderated exchange, we translate the Nordic perspective on Austrian structures: associations, clubs, schools, economy – and the role of golf within it.

Exchange at eye level – 50 places, one room: time for questions to Anders Indset and for conversations with people who face the same challenges as you.

About Anders Indset

Anders Indset is a business philosopher, entrepreneur, investor, and former competitive athlete. He advises international corporate leaders and is one of the most sought-after keynote speakers in the German-speaking world. In 2018, the Thinkers50 ranking placed him among the 30 thinkers who will shape the future of corporate management. His books include Quantum Economy, Wild Knowledge, Infected Thinking and Viking Code. He grew up in Røros, a Norwegian town with around 3,500 inhabitants – from which several professional athletes emerged in his age group alone. This observation is precisely the starting point of the Viking Code.
